When I was a kid, I used to go to McDonalds and get 2 apple pies for $1. I don't know why I decided to share that. But these air fryer apple pies are delicious. Crispy, cinnamon-y, and delicious.

1medium apple, peeled and diced into bite-sized pieces
2 ½tbspgranulated sugar
1tbspunsalted butter
½tspground cinnamon
⅛tspground nutmeg
⅛tspground allspice
1sheet pre-made pie dough
1egg, beaten
1tspmilk

Combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice together in a medium saucepan or skillet over low-medium heat. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Allow the apples to cool, uncovered at room temperature, for 30 minutes.

Cut the pie dough into 5-inch circles.

Add the filling to the center of each pie crust circle and use your finger to apply water to the outer ends. Some filling will be left over.

Crimp the pie shut and cut a small slit on the top.

Set air fryer to 350°F | 177°C for 10 minutes to start the preheating cycle.

Mix together the egg and milk to make an egg wash and brush the tops of each pie.

Place the pies into the preheated air fryer and cook at 350°F | 177°C for 10 minutes, until pies are golden brown.
